Bio

Paul Leinoff is a partner with the law firm of Leinoff & Lemos, P.A. He is a graduate of the University of Miami School of Law (J.D. cum laude) and an alumnus of Johns Hopkins University. Paul is Board Certified in Marital and Family Law by The Florida Bar as a legal expert in these areas, as well as board certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He is AV Preeminent rated, the highest peer review rating available by Martindale-Hubbell and was recognized in 2023 as “Lawyer of the Year” by Best Lawyers, one of the oldest and most respected legal publication companies in the legal profession. He has repeatedly been selected for inclusion in Florida Super Lawyers magazine, most recently in 2023 being recognized as a Top 100 Lawyer. Paul has also been included in the National Advocates Top 100 Lawyers in Florida, Top 40 Under 40, and Best Lawyers.

Paul devotes 100% of his practice to the areas of marital and family law matters including divorce, paternity, distribution and valuation of sophisticated business matters, preparation of prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, child custody, parenting plans, alimony, child support, relocation, and modification actions.

He has previously been appointed to serve on the Legislation Committee, Relocation Subcommittee, and Alimony Committee of the Family Law Section of the Florida Bar. Paul has also served on the Board of Directors and Strategic Planning Committee of Kidside Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to providing funding to enable Family Court Services to continue to serve the needs of children and parents suffering from family conflict. He is now an Advisor to Kidside, Inc. and is also part of a select committee of lawyers and judges who are crafting a new procedure to process an ‘emergency’.

Paul has lectured at the University of Miami School of Law, the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyer Institute, the First Family Law American Inns of Court, and the Broward County Bar Association among other venues on topics including business valuations, prenuptial agreements, psychotherapist-patient privilege, attorney-client privilege, relocation, alimony, timesharing, same-sex marriages, DOMA, attorney's fees, ethics, and the new e-filing procedures. He has co-authored articles for the national publications, Family Advocate, ABA Section of Family Law, titled The Perils Of A Prenup: First Do No Harm to Your Client or Yourself, Winter 2011 Edition, and Bloomberg BNA, titled Premarital and Postnuptial Agreements: Do They Really Work? 2014.

While a student at the University of Miami School of Law, Paul earned first place at the class-wide Moot Court Competition. He is licensed to practice law in the State of Florida and in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida and has been trained in Collaborative Law.
